Irgendwo in Ger(wo)many. Die Terroristinnen-Zelle 'Female Liberation Army', kurz 'FLA', bereitet den Umsturz des Patriarchats und die Installation einer neuen weiblichen Weltordnung vor. Dazu hat ihre Anführerin 'Big Mother' (Susanne Sachße) eine Gruppe von acht schwer erziehbaren Mädchen um sich gesammelt, die sie gemeinsam mit ihren Kameradinnen auf einem abgelegenen Landgut ausbildet. Nach außen hin ist das Anwesen als katholische Internatsschule getarnt. Um die Revolution zu finanzieren und die eigene Ideologie zu verbreiten, drehen die Frauen feministische Pornographie. Doch als eines der Mädchen einen verletzten linksradikalen Soldaten im Wald entdeckt und heimlich in den Keller des Anwesens bringt, um ihn gesund zu pflegen, droht die strikte Hausordnung aus den Fugen zu geraten...
'Die Misandristinnen', der neue Film des kanadischen Kultregisseurs Bruce LaBruce (siehe auch hier im Verleihprogramm 'Otto Or, Up With Dead People' 2008, 'Geron' 2013 und 'Pierrot Lunaire' von 2014) funktioniert als Fortsetzung seiner berüchtigten Propaganda-Porno-Satire 'The Raspberry Reich' (2005). Nicht ohne Grund mögen manche bei der Geschichte an den jüngsten Film von Sofia Coppola denken: Wie 'Die Verführten' (2017) ist 'Die Misandristinnen' ein Remake des Bürgerkriegsmelodrams 'Betrogen' (1971). Sein ungleich geringeres Budget kompensiert LaBruce mit der Besetzung von queeren Underground-Stars (darunter Susanne Sachße und Kembra Pfahler) sowie radikalen Regieeinfällen, die die Grenzen des guten Geschmacks bis aufs Äußerste ausreizen.

Somewhere in Ger(wo)many. The terrorist cell 'Female Liberation Army', or 'FLA' for short, is preparing the overthrow of patriarchy and the installation of a new female world order. To this end, her leader 'Big Mother' (Susanne Sachße) has gathered a group of eight difficult girls around her, whom she trains together with her comrades on a remote country estate. To the outside world, the property is disguised as a Catholic boarding school. In order to finance the revolution and spread their own ideology, the women make feminist pornography. But when one of the girls discovers an injured left-wing radical soldier in the forest and secretly brings him to the basement of the estate to nurse him back to health, the strict house rules threaten to come apart at the seams...
'The Misandrists', the new film by Canadian cult director Bruce LaBruce (see also here in the distribution program 'Otto Or, Up With Dead People' 2008, 'Geron' 2013 and 'Pierrot Lunaire' from 2014) works as a sequel to his infamous propaganda porn satire 'The Raspberry Reich' (2005). It is not without reason that some may think of Sofia Coppola's latest film when it comes to the story: Like 'The Seduced' (2017), 'The Misandrists' is a remake of the civil war melodrama 'Betrayed' (1971). LaBruce compensates for his incomparably lower budget with the casting of queer underground stars (including Susanne Sachße and Kembra Pfahler) as well as radical directorial ideas that push the boundaries of good taste to the extreme.
