Der gutmütige Eisbär Norm (im englischen Original gesprochen von Rob Schneider) genießt sein Leben in der Ruhe der frostigen Arktis. Doch immer mehr amerikanischen Touristen legen mit riesigen Kreuzfahrtschiffen in den kühlen Gefilden an und stören den Frieden der Elche, Robben, Eisbären und Co. Fiese Investoren planen sogar den Bau von luxuriösen Shopping-Malls in der bisher unberührten Arktis. Das geht eindeutig zu weit! Norm muss etwas gegen die profitgierigen Menschen unternehmen und die Heimat seiner Freunde schützem. In der Begleitung von drei unerschrockenen Lemmingen reist der Eisbär nach New York City, um den Wahnsinn zu stoppen. Im 'Big Apple' erwarten die Tiere ungeahnte Abenteuer und so wird 'Norm of the North' plötzlich zum gefeierten TV-Star. Dazu soll der plüschige Bär auch noch das Maskottchen des Unternehmens werden, das er eigentlich aufhalten will.
The good-natured polar bear Norm (voiced by Rob Schneider) enjoys his life in the tranquility of the frosty Arctic. But more and more American tourists are docking in the cool climes with huge cruise ships and disturbing the peace of the moose, seals, polar bears and Co. Nasty investors are even planning to build luxurious shopping malls in the hitherto untouched Arctic. This is clearly going too far! Norm has to do something about the profit-hungry people and protect the homeland of his friends. Accompanied by three intrepid lemmings, the polar bear travels to New York City to stop the madness. In the 'Big Apple', the animals expect unexpected adventures and so 'Norm of the North' suddenly becomes a celebrated TV star. In addition, the plush bear is also to become the mascot of the company he actually wants to stop.
