Der Straßenbauingenieur Pedro (Luís Galvão Teles) hängt zu seinem Leidwesen in einem kleinen nordportugiesischen Dörfchen fest und wartet sehnsüchtig auf seine Rückversetzung nach Lissabon. Zum Zeitvertreib hat er dem kleinen Nest eine Website gebastelt, auf der er dessen touristische Vorzüge anpreist. Doch plötzlich erhält er einen Brief eines multinationalen Firmenkonzerns: Die Domain gehört der Firma und muss sofort geräumt werden! Ansonsten drohen 500.000 Euro Schadenersatz. Doch nur die Dorfgemeinschaft kann die Seite tatsächlich löschen und die hofft auf das große Geschäft. Ihre Logik: Wenn die Website 500.000 Euro Schadensersatz wert ist, dann auch umgekehrt. Und so fordern sie als Ablöse eine halbe Million von der Firma. Die Situation gerät vollends außer Kontrolle, als die Presse von New York bis Hong Kong Wind von der Story bekommt.
To his chagrin, road engineer Pedro (Luís Galvão Teles) is stuck in a small northern Portuguese village and is eagerly waiting for his transfer back to Lisbon. To pass the time, he has created a website for the small nest on which he praises its tourist advantages. But suddenly he receives a letter from a multinational corporation: The domain belongs to the company and must be vacated immediately! Otherwise, there is a risk of 500,000 euros in damages. But only the village community can actually delete the page and they hope for the big business. Their logic: If the website is worth 500,000 euros in damages, then vice versa. And so they demand half a million from the company as compensation. The situation gets completely out of control when the press from New York to Hong Kong gets wind of the story.
