Die Regisseurin betrachtet ihre Protagonistin mit einem empathischen, beinahe zärtlichen Blick, der durch die Kameraführung fast schon dokumentarische Züge aufweist. Die Hauptdarstellerin Malou Khebizi brilliert in ihrer ersten Filmrolle in diesem berührenden und authentischen Drama. Kraftvoll und natürlich spielt sie die Figur der 19-jährigen Liane, einer Art modernen Barbie, mit allen dazugehörigen Attributen, wie schwindelerregenden Absätzen, überlangen Extensions, falschen Fingernägeln und Bling-Bling-Schmuck, ohne dabei jemals in eine Karikatur zu verfallen. Riedingers Debütfilm ist in seiner Darstellung des Milieus und der Menschen so ehrlich wie seine Hauptfigur.

In her first feature film, she dedicates herself to the complex facets of reality TV, an often disregarded reflection of society. She is fascinated by these daily broadcasts and the social media profiles of her participants, but equally disturbed by the values they often stand for, such as violence and the hypersexualization of women. The director looks at her protagonist with an empathetic, almost tender gaze, which has almost documentary features due to the camera work. The leading actress Malou Khebizi shines in her first film role in this touching and authentic drama. Powerful and natural, she plays the character of 19-year-old Liane, a kind of modern Barbie, with all the attributes that go with it, such as dizzying heels, extra-long extensions, false fingernails and bling-bling jewelry, without ever falling into caricature. Riedinger's debut film is as honest in its portrayal of the milieu and the people as its main character.
