Agathe Villanova (Agnès Jaoui), erfolgreiche Feministin mit politischen Ambitionen, kehrt für zehn Tage in das Haus ihrer Kindheit in Südfrankreich zurück. Sie soll dort ihrer Schwester Florence (Pascale Arbillot) helfen, die Hinterlassenschaften ihrer verstorbenen Mutter zu entrümpeln. Agathe mag diese Gegend nicht besonders. Anlässlich der bevorstehenden Wahlen hat es sie - der Quotenregelung sei dank - aber ausgerechnet hierher zurückverschlagen. Das Haus wird von Florence mit ihrem Mann, ihren Kindern und der alten Haushälterin Mimouna bewohnt. Mimounas Sohn Karim (Jamel Debbouze) und sein Freund Michel Ronsard (Jean-Pierre Bacri) wollen nun die Gunst der Stunde nutzen, und einen Dokumentarfilm über Agathe Villanova zu drehen, als Teil einer Reihe über erfolgreiche Frauen. Es ist August. Der Himmel ist grau. Und es regnet. Das ist nicht normal. Doch auch sonst sind die Dinge, die sich hier abspielen, alles andere als normal...
Nach 'Lust auf anderes' (2000) und 'Schau mich an!' (2004) ist dies der neue Film von Agnès Jaoui. Liebevoll entlarvt 'Erzähl mir was vom Regen' die kleinen Schwächen und großen Lebenslügen, die wir alle in uns tragen. Mit viel Situationskomik und souveräner Selbstironie erzählt Jaoui von den Schwierigkeiten seinen Platz im Leben zu finden und sich und andere wirklich zu erkennen.

Agathe Villanova (Agnès Jaoui), a successful feminist with political ambitions, returns to the house of her childhood in the south of France for ten days. There she is supposed to help her sister Florence (Pascale Arbillot) to clear out the legacies of her deceased mother. Agathe doesn't like this area very much. On the occasion of the upcoming elections, however, she has returned here of all places - thanks to the quota system. The house is inhabited by Florence with her husband, her children and the old housekeeper Mimouna. Mimouna's son Karim (Jamel Debbouze) and his friend Michel Ronsard (Jean-Pierre Bacri) now want to seize the opportunity and make a documentary about Agathe Villanova, as part of a series about successful women. It is August. The sky is grey. And it's raining. This is not normal. But even otherwise, the things that happen here are anything but normal...
After 'Lust auf anderes' (2000) and 'Schau mich an!' (2004), this is the new film by Agnès Jaoui. 'Tell me something about the rain' lovingly exposes the small weaknesses and big lies that we all carry within us. With a lot of situational comedy and sovereign self-irony, Jaoui tells of the difficulties of finding one's place in life and really recognizing oneself and others.
