High-Flyer Rick Jeffers (Jake Busey) steht auf seine Freundin Tamara (Natasha Lyonne), das Verkosten diverser chemischer Substanzen, Herumhängen mit seinem Kumpel und Pornos mit Hardcorestar Ginger Quale. Als ihm abends in einer Bar die schöne Ginger (Jennifer Tilly) leibhaftig gegenübersteht, zögert er nicht lange und ein paar Drinks später vergnügt man sich in ihrer Corvette. Nach der Beichte am nächsten Morgen reagiert Freundin Tamara lange nicht so entspannt wie Rick sich das erhofft hat und wirft ihn hochkant aus der Wohnung und sich an den Hals seines besten Kumpels. Also bricht er seine Zelte ab, um der Einladung Gingers in ein Leben voller Sex, Drogen und Müssiggang zu folgen. Die wenigen Habseligkeiten werden ins Auto gepackt und Rick macht sich auf in Richtung 'Palm Springs'. Unterwegs gabelt er den hochintelligenten, aber ziemlich weltfremden Jules (Crispin Glover) auf. Es stellt sich heraus, dass der noch unberührt ist und mit der vollen Ladung Sex um ihn herum ziemlich durcheinander gerät. Das ist nicht die einzige Schwierigkeit mit der Rick zu kämpfen hat, denn Gingers ziemlich rabiater Ehemann kommt zum Landurlaub nach Hause.

High-flyer Rick Jeffers (Jake Busey) is into his girlfriend Tamara (Natasha Lyonne), tasting various chemical substances, hanging out with his buddy and porn with hardcore star Ginger Quale. When he faces the beautiful Ginger (Jennifer Tilly) in a bar in the evening, he doesn't hesitate for long and a few drinks later they are having fun in her Corvette. After confession the next morning, girlfriend Tamara doesn't react as relaxed as Rick had hoped and throws him out of the apartment and on his best buddy's neck. So he breaks down his tents to accept Ginger's invitation to a life full of sex, drugs and idleness. The few belongings are packed into the car and Rick sets off in the direction of 'Palm Springs'. On the way, he picks up the highly intelligent but rather unworldly Jules (Crispin Glover). It turns out that he is still untouched and gets quite confused with the full load of sex around him. That's not the only difficulty Rick has to deal with, because Ginger's rather rabid husband comes home for a country vacation.
