Jacqueline Mazerin (Josiane Balasko) lässt gerade ihre Wohnung renovieren. Sie will eigentlich mit ihrem Freund, Nachbarn und Liebhaber Jean (Didier Flamand) zusammenziehen. Doch es gibt Stress: Der Handwerker wird nicht fertig, kaum eine Wand bleibt verschont, Jean will sich nicht von liebgewordenen Dingen trennen und schließlich bläst er den Umzug ganz ab. Jacqueline flieht aus ihrer Wohnung. Zunächst will sie bei ihrem Sohn Nicolas (Philippe Lefebvre) unterkommen. Doch der wimmelt die Mutter ab, er hat andere Probleme - seine Frau hat ihn verlassen. Jacqueline sieht sich gezwungen, 'ein paar Tage' bei ihrer ältesten Tochter Carole (Mathilde Seigner) und ihrem Schwiegersohn zu wohnen. Carole und Alain Bordier (Jérôme Commandeur) absolvieren gerade eine Paartherapie und so kommt es - nicht zuletzt wegen Mama im Nebenzimmer - beim vorsichtigen Austausch von Zärtlichkeiten immer wieder zu komischen Situationen. Aus ein paar Tagen werden Monate. Mama fühlt sich bei Carole wie zu Hause. Sie bereitet das Abendessen zu, nimmt den Fernseher in Beschlag, organisiert die Küche neu, und, und, und. Jacqueline Mazerin (Josiane Balasko) is currently having her apartment renovated. She actually wants to move in with her boyfriend, neighbor and lover Jean (Didier Flamand). But there is stress: the craftsman is not finished, hardly a wall is spared, Jean does not want to part with things he has grown fond of and finally he cancels the move altogether.
