Nabou (Kati Stüdemann) hat nur eines im Kopf: Sie will ihre Ex-Freundin Katja (Aglaia Szyszkowitz) zurück. Dafür nimmt sie sogar den Job als Putzhilfe bei der Yuppie-Frau Kim (Chantal De Freitas) an, die ein Stockwerk unter Katja wohnt. Der Rest lässt sich dann schon irgendwie deichseln, glaubt Nabou. Mit der coolen, pedantischen Karrierefrau Kim verbindet die arbeitslose Lebenskünstlerin nur die Hautfarbe, entsprechend oft kracht es zwischen den beiden. Nabou stört das wenig, denn sie ist hauptsächlich hinter ihrer Exfreundin her. Erst als sie am Ziel ist, bemerkt sie, dass es gar nicht Katja ist, die sie will...
Die Idee zu 'Alles wird gut' (1998) kam Angelina Maccarone und Fatima El-Tayeb beim Dreh ihres ersten Films 'Kommt Mausi raus?!'. Damals konnte sie keinen afro-deutschen Charakter in ihrem Film durchsetzen - also sind diesmal die vier wichtigsten Figuren afro-deutsch. Aber 'Alles wird gut' ist kein gesellschaftspolitischer Betroffenheitsfilm. Angelina Maccarone hat Humor und ihre Figuren erst recht. Also ist diese Komödie über den alltäglichen Rassismus völlig unverkrampft geraten. Auch politisch korrekt kann sehr witzig sein! Angelina Maccarone und ihrer Co-Autorin Fatima El-Tayeb ist das große Kunststück gelungen, eine deutsche Komödie beinahe wie eine amerikanische Screwball-Komödie zu entwerfen und dabei das Thema Rassismus elegant, ohne Jammerei und dennoch eindrücklich zu behandeln. Ganz nebenbei ist ihnen dann noch eine grandiose Liebesgeschichte gelungen. 'Alles wird gut' ist in dieser Mischung noch heute ein Film, der seiner Zeit voraus ist.

The idea for 'Everything Will Be Fine' (1998) came to Angelina Maccarone and Fatima El-Tayeb during the shooting of their first film 'Kommt Mausi raus?!'. At that time, she was unable to impose an Afro-German character in her film - so this time the four most important characters are Afro-German. But 'Everything Will Be Fine' is not a socio-political film of consternation. Angelina Maccarone has a sense of humor and her characters even more so. So this comedy about everyday racism is completely relaxed. Politically correct can also be very funny! Angelina Maccarone and her co-author Fatima El-Tayeb have achieved the great feat of creating a German comedy almost like an American screwball comedy and dealing with the topic of racism elegantly, without whining and yet impressively. Along the way, they have also succeeded in creating a terrific love story. In this mixture, 'Everything Will Be Fine' is still a film that is ahead of its time.
