Der Film wirft einen Blick auf das anarchistische Herz der Stadt, zeigt sie als Heimat von Individualisten und einen Ort von dem die Jungs in die weite Welt aufbrechen. Trotz aller Gegensätze führt sie die Welle im Herzen von München immer wieder zusammen. 'Keep Sufing' folgt sechs Ausnahmesurfern auf eine Ausnahmewelle - und zeigt dabei Lebensentwürfe, die nicht unterschiedlicher sein könnten. Im Wetsuit teilen sie als Sportler die gleiche Leidenschaft, privat aber sind sie Informatiker, Kameramann oder Arzt. Nur einer verdient mit Surfen sein Geld, ein anderer hält sich mit dem Bau von Didgeridoos über Wasser und der letzte im Bunde betreibt einen Barbershop in Oregon. Regisseu Björn Richie Lob sind atemberaubende Aufnahmen der Wellenreiter gelungen, mit nicht weniger Geschick hat er seinen Protagonisten Geheimnisse entlockt, die sie sonst niemandem erzählen. Denn Lob ist einer von ihnen, selbst ein Flusssurfer und radikaler Individualist, der seinem Filmtraum bedingungslos folgte. Vor Ort war er in fünf Jahren Produktionszeit immer wieder Regisseur und Kameramann zugleich. 'Keep Surfing' ist ein junger und packender Kinofilm über München - das deutsche Mekka des Wellenreitens - und ein mitreißendes Plädoyer für ungebändigte Lebensentwürfe. Produziert von Tobias N. Siebert, dem Produzenten von 'Die Geschichte vom weinenden Kamel' (Oscar-nominiert in der Kategorie 'Bester Dokumentarfilm'), fängt 'Keep Surfing' das Lebensgefühl und die Faszination des Surfens ein und zeigt Münchens wilde Seite. Der Soundtrack zur Welle kommt von Philip Stegers aka Lee Buddah. Der Score verbindet den typischen Surfsound mit neuen Klängen, und bietet dazu noch einige Entdeckungen wie die deutsch-schwedische Formation 'anna.luca'. Björn Richie Lobs Kinodebüt und erster abendfüllender Dokumentarfilm wurde bei seiner Weltpremiere auf dem Filmfest München 2009 mit dem Bayern3-Publikumspreis ausgezeichnet.

Almost incidentally, 'Keep Surfing' conveys that the city of Munich is much more than just the home of wealthy beer and pretzel lovers. The film takes a look at the anarchist heart of the city, shows it as the home of individualists and a place from which the boys set off into the wide world. 'Keep Sufing' follows six exceptional surfers on an exceptional wave - and shows life plans that could not be more different. In wetsuits, they share the same passion as athletes, but privately they are computer scientists, cameramen or doctors. Only one earns his money with surfing, another keeps his head above water by building didgeridoos and the last of the bunch runs a barbershop in Oregon. Director Björn Richie Lob has succeeded in taking breathtaking shots of the surfers, and with no less skill he has elicited secrets from his protagonists that they don't tell anyone else. Because Lob is one of them, himself a river surfer and radical individualist who followed his film dream unconditionally. On site, he was director and cameraman at the same time again and again in five years of production.
