'Le Lac' (2025) von Fabrice Aragno ist ein Film der wenigen Worte, ein Film des Klangs, ein Film der Bilder. Landschaften werden als Charaktere inszeniert, Körper als Landschaften begriffen. Das Wandeln zwischen Leben und Tod, die auf einfache und menschliche Weise ausgelotete und dargestellte Beziehung des Paares - konfrontiert mit den unaufhörlichen Widerständen der Elemente - bildet den filmischen Ausdruck dessen, was wir alle in unserem Leben, ob nah oder fern, bereits empfunden haben. Der dritte Protagonist ist der Genfersee, jene Kulisse, die unsere Ufer umschließt. Vor unseren Augen entfaltet sich die Geschichte dieser verzweifelten Leidenschaft, in der Welt zu sein. Wir möchten auf die andere Seite übersetzen, doch wir können es nicht, und dennoch vernehmen wir die Stimme dieses Lebens im Rauschen der Wellen, im Atem des Windes, in den vorüberziehenden Wolken, im einsamen Ruf der Vögel. Doch dies verlangt nach einem Ruf des Herzens und jener tiefen inneren Erschütterung, die die Natur hervorruf.

'Le Lac' (2025) by Fabrice Aragno is a film of few words, a film of sound, a film of images. Landscapes are staged as characters, bodies are understood as landscapes. The walk between life and death, the relationship of the couple explored and portrayed in a simple and human way - confronted with the incessant resistance of the elements - forms the cinematic expression of what we have all already felt in our lives, whether near or far. The third protagonist is Lake Geneva, the backdrop that encloses our shores. The story of this desperate passion to be in the world unfolds before our eyes. We want to translate to the other side, but we can't, and yet we hear the voice of this life in the sound of the waves, in the breath of the wind, in the passing clouds, in the lonely call of the birds. But this calls for a call of the heart and that deep inner upheaval that nature evokes.
