Als ein verliebter Musiker (Spike Fearn) die falsche Nummer seiner Traumfrau bekommt, tut er sich mit einer ehrgeizigen Psychologiestudentin (Angourie Rice) zusammen, um Emily Weston (Julia Rogers) zu finden. Gemeinsam lösen sie ein urkomisches, campusweites Chaos aus, das ihre Herzen und Ambitionen auf die Probe stellt: 318 Emilys gibt es an der Uni, aber er sucht nur die Eine. Und so stürzt ein Musiker namens Owen in 'Finding Emily' einen ganzen Campus ins Chaos, als er mit Hilfe einer Psychologiestudentin versucht, seine Traumfrau wiederzufinden. Eine Mission, aber zwei Ziele, denn ganz selbstlos ist das Angebot, Owen zu helfen, nicht. Schließlich versucht sie herauszufinden, ob Liebe wirklich verrückt macht. Wenn diese unbändige Hoffnung auf das Finden ebendieser nicht der Beweis ist, was ist es dann? Doch nicht etwa liebenswert? Aber zuerst heißt es für die beiden: Wer sucht, der findet - oder ist etwa der Weg das Ziel?
'Finding Emily' (2026) wurde von Tim Bevan und Eric Fellner produziert, den Produzenten vieler der beliebtesten romantischen Komödien aller Zeiten wie 'Bridget Jones - Verrückt nach ihm', 'Alles eine Frage der Zeit', 'Stolz und Vorurteil', 'Tatsächlich... Liebe', 'About a Boy oder Der Tag der toten Ente', 'Bridget Jones - Schokolade zum Frühstück', 'Notting Hill' und 'Vier Hochzeiten und ein Todesfall'. Ebenfalls zum Produktionsteam gehörte Olivier Kaempfer. 'Finding Emily' ist der erste Spielfilm von Regisseurin Alicia MacDonald. Das Drehbuch stammt von Rachel Hirons ('A Guide to Second Date Sex'). Der Kinostart in Deutschland findet am 28. Mai 2026 statt.

Love', 'About a Boy or The Day of the Dead Duck', 'Bridget Jones - Chocolate for Breakfast', 'Notting Hill' and 'Four Weddings and a Funeral'. Olivier Kaempfer was also part of the production team. 'Finding Emily' is the first feature film from director Alicia MacDonald. The screenplay was written by Rachel Hirons ('A Guide to Second Date Sex'). The theatrical release in Germany will take place on May 28, 2026.
