Solange 'Sol' Corthis (Chantal Lauby), eine berühmte Interpretin des argentinischen Tangos, lebt seit vielen Jahren in 'Buenos Aires'. Sol kehrt nach Paris zurück, in der Hoffnung, endlich ihren 7-jährigen Enkel Jo (Giovanni Pucci) zu treffen, der aus der Beziehung von Raphael und ihrer Schwiegertochter Eva (Camille Chamoux), die sie nicht kennt, hervorgegangen ist. Doch Sol hat Angst, sie zu sehen, und gibt vor, dort zu sein, um das Atelier vor ihrer Tür zu mieten. Von da an tut sie alles, was sie kann, um ihre neuen Nachbarn zu zähmen...
Mit 'Madame Corthis und der Tanz ins Glück' (2020) schuf Jézabel Marques einen generationsübergreifenden Familienfilm mit einer temperamentvollen Hauptfigur, die nicht nur lustig und herzlich, sondern auch authentisch ist. Eine charmante Geschichte über verloren geglaubte Beziehungen und zweite Chancen - und eine inspirierende Erinnerung an das, was im Leben wirklich zählt. Wie es zu ihrer Verfilmung kam, erzählt die Regisseurin in einem Interview: "Ich hatte also diesen Tango-Rhythmus und diese Charaktere: Sol, die starke, unabhängige Frau, die von meiner Großmutter inspiriert ist, und Eva, eine eher unflexible Figur, die von mir selbst inspiriert ist. Jo darf natürlich auch nicht vergessen werden, er ähnelt meinem Sohn und der Tochter meiner Co-Autorin Faiza Guène. Und so entstand 'Madame Corthis und der Tanz ins Glück'."

With 'Madame Corthis and the Dance to Happiness' (2020), Jézabel Marques created a cross-generational family film with a spirited main character who is not only funny and warm, but also authentic. A charming story about lost relationships and second chances - and an inspiring reminder of what really matters in life. In an interview, the director explains how her film adaptation came about: "So I had this tango rhythm and these characters: Sol, the strong, independent woman inspired by my grandmother, and Eva, a rather inflexible character inspired by myself. Of course, Jo should not be forgotten either, he resembles my son and the daughter of my co-author Faiza Guène. And that's how 'Madame Corthis and the Dance to Happiness' came about."
