Eigentlich wollten sich der vielbeschäftigte Hollywood-Produzent Michael Lockwood (Alec Baldwin) und seine Frau Anne (Diane Lane) ein paar gemeinsame freie Tage im Süden Frankreichs gönnen. Doch dann muss Michael dringend geschäftlich von Cannes nach Budapest reisen. Anne kann ihn nicht begleiten und findet sich unverhofft im Cabrio von Michaels französischem Geschäftspartner Jacques (Arnaud Viard) wieder. Der bietet nur allzu gern seine Chauffeurdienste an, schließlich sind es nur ein paar Stunden Fahrt nach Paris, wo sich Anne und Michael in ein paar Tagen wiedertreffen wollen. Doch Jacques, ein typischer Franzose und Bonvivant, hat es alles andere als eilig und lässt keine Gelegenheit aus, der attraktiven Amerikanerin die Vorzüge Südfrankreichs nahe zu bringen und hemmungslos mit ihr zu flirten. Anne bleibt zunächst auf Distanz, fühlt sich von den Avancen ihres lebenslustigen Begleiters aber durchaus geschmeichelt. Bald schon muss sie sich auch eingestehen, dass sie es genießt, wenn Jacques sie an die denkbar schönsten Orte der Welt führt und versucht, sie mittels feinster kulinarischer Köstlichkeiten zu verführen. Aus dem kurzen Trip werden schließlich zwei ganze Tage, in denen sich die beiden immer näher kommen...
Mit 'Paris kann warten' (2017) liefert Eleanor Coppola, Ehefrau von Regielegende Francis Ford Coppola und Mutter von Indie-Ikone Sofia Coppola, ihr luftig-leichtes Spielfilmdebüt ab. Das verlockend schöne und wunderbar unterhaltsame Roadmovie erzählt von einer magischen Zufallsbegegnung und zelebriert auf unnachahmliche Weise das Savoir-vivre. Jede Menge Leckerbissen, die nicht nur den Gaumen, sondern auch Herz und Sinne betören, inklusive. In den Hauptrollen verführen die unglaublich faszinierende Diane Lane (u.a. 'Untreu' und 'Unter der Sonne der Toskana') und der charismatische Arnaud Viard (aus 'Carole Matthieu' 2016). Alec Baldwin ('Wenn Liebe so einfach wäre') überzeugt als Hollywood-Mogul, gewisse Ähnlichkeiten mit realen Personen nicht ausgeschlossen.

Actually, the busy Hollywood producer Michael Lockwood (Alec Baldwin) and his wife Anne (Diane Lane) wanted to treat themselves to a few days off together in the south of France. But then Michael urgently has to travel from Cannes to Budapest on business. Anne cannot accompany him and unexpectedly finds herself in the convertible of Michael's French business partner Jacques (Arnaud Viard). He is only too happy to offer his chauffeur services, after all, it's only a few hours' drive to Paris, where Anne and Michael want to meet again in a few days. But Jacques, a typical Frenchman and bon vivant, is in no hurry and misses no opportunity to introduce the attractive American woman to the advantages of the south of France and to flirt with her without restraint. Anne initially keeps her distance, but feels flattered by the advances of her fun-loving companion. Soon she has to admit to herself that she enjoys it when Jacques takes her to the most beautiful places in the world and tries to seduce her with the finest culinary delicacies. The short trip finally turns into two whole days, in which the two get closer and closer...

The enticingly beautiful and wonderfully entertaining road movie tells of a magical chance encounter and celebrates savoir-vivre in an inimitable way. Lots of delicacies that not only beguile the palate, but also the heart and senses, included. In the leading roles, the incredibly fascinating Diane Lane (including 'Unfaithful' and 'Under the Tuscan Sun') and the charismatic Arnaud Viard (from 'Carole Matthieu' 2016) seduce. Alec Baldwin ('If Love Were So Easy') convinces as a Hollywood mogul, certain similarities with real people cannot be ruled out.
