Der Kurzfilm kommt in der deutschen Film- und Fernsehlandschaft immer noch zu kurz - nicht aber in der '13th Street'. Der Action & Suspense Channel verschafft Kurzfilmen die Aufmerksamkeit, die sie verdienen: durch einen festen Sendeplatz, die Kofinazierung und Koproduktion innovativer Projekte und nicht zuletzt durch den Kurzfilmpreis 'Shocking Shorts Award', der jährlich im Rahmen des Münchner Filmfests an junge Regietalente vergeben wird. Auf dieser DVD werden 13 internationale Kurzfilme aus der Reihe 'Shocking Shorts' vorgestellt. Die Kurzfilme sind aus den Genres Action, Krimi, Thriller und Mystery und warten mit bekannten Schauspielern auf: Kenneth Branagh, Catherine Flemming, Ursula Buschhorn, und Hans-Werner Meyer. The short film is still neglected in the German film and television landscape - but not in '13th Street'. The Action & Suspense Channel gives short films the attention they deserve: through a fixed broadcasting slot, the co-financing and co-production of innovative projects and, last but not least, through the 'Shocking Shorts Award', which is awarded annually to young directing talents as part of the Munich Film Festival. This DVD presents 13 international short films from the 'Shocking Shorts' series. The short films are from the genres of action, crime, thriller and mystery and feature well-known actors: Kenneth Branagh, Catherine Flemming, Ursula Buschhorn, and Hans-Werner Meyer. Also on this DVD: The adventures of 'Joe, the corpse': The corpse Joe, always on her stretcher through the pathology, 'experiences' a wide variety of adventures in fifteen one-minute sequences and now has cult status among '13th Street' viewers.
