Der 12-jährige Karli (Silas John) zieht mit seiner Familie in die Alpen, wo sich seine Eltern endlich den Traum vom eigenen Hotel erfüllen. Bei seinen Streifzügen durch das ehemalige Grandhotel entdeckt er, dass er in einem alten Lastenaufzug in der Zeit reisen kann, und landet im Jahr 1938. Karli freundet sich dort mit dem jüdischen Gästemädchen Hannah (Annika Benzin) und dem Schuhputzerjungen Georg (Maximilian Reinwald) an. Doch Karli wagt nicht, seinen Freunden zu erzählen, was über das Jahr 1938 erfährt, und warum es lebenswichtig ist, dass Hannah nicht nach Berlin zurückfährt. Als Georg zu Unrecht des Diebstahls bezichtigt und gefeuert wird, wollen seine neuen Freunde ihm helfen und den wahren Gauner finden. Dabei entdecken die drei, dass im Hotel seltsame Dinge vor sich gehen. Ist der gutaussehende Pianist Bruno (Tobias Resch) ein Juwelendieb? Und steckt Hannahs Vater mit ihm unter einer Decke? Die Kinder beschließen, das Rätsel zu knacken und finden heraus, dass sich hinter der Hotelfassade ein riesiges Geheimnis verbirgt...
'Das geheime Stockwerk' (2025) ist eine Regiearbeit von Norbert Lechner, inszeniert nach einem Drehbuch von Antonia Rothe-Liermann und Katrin Milhahn. Der Film ist besetzt mit Silas John in der Rolle des Karli sowie Annika Benzin als Hannah. Maximilian Reinwald verkörpert Georg. Ergänzt wird das Ensemble durch Marie Jung als Susi, Marc Limpach als Herr Friedländer, André Jung als Hoteldirektor, Maximilian Simonischek in der Rolle des Otto Hartwig und Tobias Resch als Pianist Bruno. Eine Produktion von Kevin Lee Film, 'Amour Fou Vienna' und 'Amour Fou Luxembourg'. Als koproduzierende Sender waren unter Federführung des MDR auch BR, SWR, HR sowie der ORF über das Film/Fernsehabkommen beteiligt. Der Film wurde mit dem Österreichischen Umweltzeichen für nachhaltige Filmproduktion ausgezeichnet. Der bundesweite Kinostart in Deutschland ist am 12. März 2026 erreicht.

12-year-old Karli (Silas John) moves with his family to the Alps, where his parents finally fulfill their dream of owning their own hotel. During his forays through the former grand hotel, he discovers that he can travel in time in an old freight elevator and ends up in 1938. Karli makes friends with the Jewish guest girl Hannah (Annika Benzin) and the shoeshine boy Georg (Maximilian Reinwald). But Karli doesn't dare to tell his friends what he learns about the year 1938 and why it is vital that Hannah does not return to Berlin. When Georg is wrongly accused of theft and fired, his new friends want to help him and find the real crook. In the process, the three discover that strange things are going on in the hotel. Is the handsome pianist Bruno (Tobias Resch) a jewel thief? And is Hannah's father in cahoots with him? The children decide to crack the mystery and find out that behind the hotel façade hides a huge secret...
'The Secret Floor' (2025) is a directorial work by Norbert Lechner, directed from a screenplay by Antonia Rothe-Liermann and Katrin Milhahn. The film is cast with Silas John in the role of Karli and Annika Benzin as Hannah. Maximilian Reinwald embodies Georg. The ensemble is complemented by Marie Jung as Susi, Marc Limpach as Mr. Friedländer, André Jung as hotel director, Maximilian Simonischek in the role of Otto Hartwig and Tobias Resch as pianist Bruno. A production by Kevin Lee Film, 'Amour Fou Vienna' and 'Amour Fou Luxembourg'. Under the leadership of MDR, BR, SWR, HR and ORF were also involved as co-producing broadcasters through the film/television agreement. The film was awarded the Austrian Ecolabel for sustainable film production. The nationwide theatrical release in Germany will be reached on March 12, 2026.
