Der bewegende Dokumentarfilm 'Die Vision der Claudia Andujar' (2024) umfasst das Leben und Werk der renommierten Fotografin, Humanistin und Aktivistin Claudia Andujar. Seit den 1950er Jahren engagiert sie sich leidenschaftlich für die Rechte und den Schutz der indigenen Amazonas-Völker. Mit preisgekrönten Fotografien und einem lebenslangen Einsatz kämpft sie gegen das brutale Vorgehen von Goldgräbern, Milizen, Holzkonzernen, Rinderzüchtern und deren Raubbau. Heidi Specognas Film taucht in Andujars Lebensgeschichte ein, die auch von ihrer Flucht vor dem Holocaust geprägt ist und sie schließlich in ihre neue Heimat Brasilien führte. Das Filmteam besucht das heute stärker denn je bedrohte Amazonasgebiet und die dort lebenden 'Munduruku', deren Schutz Andujar ihr Leben gewidmet hat. Dort lernen wir eine junge Generation Indigener kennen, die mit selbstgedrehten Filmen die Öffentlichkeit über die akute Bedrohung ihres Lebensraums informieren. Ihre Reportagen berichten über die verheerenden Auswirkungen der Brandrodungen, Plünderungen und Umweltzerstörungen im Amazonasgebiet und dokumentieren zugleich die reichhaltigen Traditionen und den einzigartigen Lebensraum ihres Volkes. The moving documentary 'The Vision of Claudia Andujar' (2024) covers the life and work of renowned photographer, humanist and activist Claudia Andujar. Since the 1950s, she has been passionately committed to the rights and protection of indigenous Amazonian peoples. With award-winning photographs and a lifelong commitment, she fights against the brutal actions of gold diggers, militias, timber companies, cattle breeders and their overexploitation. Heidi Specogna's film delves into Andujar's life story, which is also shaped by her escape from the Holocaust and finally led her to her new home Brazil. The film team visits the Amazon region, which is now more threatened than ever, and the 'Munduruku' living there, to whose protection Andujar has dedicated her life. There we get to know a young generation of indigenous people who inform the public about the acute threat to their habitat with self-made films. Their reports report on the devastating effects of slash-and-burn agriculture, looting and environmental destruction in the Amazon region and at the same time document the rich traditions and unique habitat of their people. "The open, unobstructed view of the people into the camera touched me and aroused my curiosity about Claudia Andujar," says director Heidi Specogna.
