Ein seltsamer Komet stürzt auf der Erde ab - in ihm verborgen zwei Deoxys, Pokémons aus dem Weltall. Beim Eintritt in die Atmosphäre wird Rayquaza der bekannte Himmelswächter fast verwundet. Es kommt zu einem spektakulären Kampf mit knappem Ausgang. Vier Jahre später: Ash, May, Brock, und Max reisen in die Hightech-Stadt Larousse City, wo sie Tory begegnen, einen Jungen, mit einem mysteriösen Freund, einer Lichtgestalt. Tory hat große Angst vor Pokémons, da er den Kampf zwischen Rayquaza und der Deoxys gesehen hat. In dem Duellturm von Larousse City kommt es zu einem Doppelkampf zwischen Ash und Tory gegen Rafe und Sid. Dass jedoch Ash Tory mit einem Pokémon-Trainer verwechselt hat, wird ihnen zum Verhängnis. Der Kampf ist relativ schnell beendet, das Team von Ash verliert. Später trifft sich Ash mit Torys Eltern und alle verbringen einen lustigen Abend. Plötzlich glüht am Himmel ein violettes Polarlicht auf. Das violette Deoxys ist in Aufruhr und auf der Suche nach seinem Freund, der beim Aufprall des Kometen von ihm getrennt wurde. Nun ist die Zeit knapp. Ash und Pikachu müssen das grüne Deoxys finden, bevor es die Stadt zerstört.

A strange comet crashes on Earth - hidden in it are two Deoxys, Pokémon from outer space. Upon entering the atmosphere, Rayquaza, the well-known Sky Guardian, is almost wounded. A spectacular fight ensues with a close outcome. Four years later: Ash, May, Brock, and Max travel to the high-tech city of Larousse City, where they meet Tory, a boy, with a mysterious friend, a shining light. Tory is very afraid of Pokémon because he saw the battle between Rayquaza and the Deoxys. In the Duel Tower of Larousse City, Ash and Tory face off against Rafe and Sid. However, the fact that Ash has mistaken Tory for a Pokémon Trainer is their undoing. The battle ends relatively quickly, Ash's team loses. Later, Ash meets with Tory's parents and they all have a fun evening. Suddenly, a purple aurora glows in the sky. The purple Deoxys is in turmoil and looking for his friend, who was separated from him on impact with the comet. Now time is short. Ash and Pikachu must find the green Deoxys before it destroys the city.
