In drei Teilen - 'The Devil To Pay', 'Hold At All Costs' und 'High Water Mark' - erzählen 'Iced Earth' im Metal-Epos 'Gettysburg' von den historischen Ereignissen am Rande des sagenumwobenen Ortes im US-Bundesstaat Pennsylvania im Juli 1863, als Truppen der amerikanischen Südstaaten auf die der Nordstaaten trafen und sich in einem wilden Gemetzel die blutigste Schlacht auf dem amerikanischen Kontinent lieferten. So greift die DVD 'Gettysburg' diese welthistorische Thematik in Wort, Bild und Ton dermaßen umfassend wieder auf, wie man es bei einer Rockband niemals zuvor erlebt hat. "Ich war in meinem Leben bereits mehrere Male an den originalen Schauplätzen der Schlacht und habe eine Menge Bücher darüber gelesen", sagt Schaffer. "Demnoch würde ich niemals behaupten, dass sich ein Gettysburg-Experte bin. Ich kann noch sehr viel mehr darüber erfahren, denn ich weiß: Je intensiver man diese Schlacht studiert, umso mehr unterschiedliche Standpunkte erfährt man." Außerdem befindet sich erstmalig der Song 'Gettysburg' im großartigen 5.1 Sound auf der DVD.

In three parts - 'The Devil To Pay', 'Hold At All Costs' and 'High Water Mark' - 'Iced Earth' in the metal epic 'Gettysburg' tell the story of the historical events on the outskirts of the legendary town in the US state of Pennsylvania in July 1863, when troops of the American southern states met those of the northern states and fought the bloodiest battle on the American continent in a wild slaughter. The DVD 'Gettysburg' takes up this world-historical theme in word, image and sound in such a comprehensive way that has never been experienced before by a rock band. "I've been to the original sites of the battle several times in my life and read a lot of books about it," Schaffer says. "Nevertheless, I would never claim to be a Gettysburg expert. I can learn a lot more about it, because I know that the more intensively you study this battle, the more different points of view you learn." In addition, the song 'Gettysburg' in great 5.1 sound is on the DVD for the first time.
