'We Are the World' von 'USA for Africa' war nicht nur ein Song. Es war ein Traum, ein Ereignis, eine weltweite Bewegung. 45 der damals größten Musikkünstler - darunter Michael Jackson, Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, Bob Dylan und Diana Ross - haben sich am 28. Januar 1985 zusammengeschlossen, um diesen Song aufzunehmen. Mit den Einnahmen, rund 60 Mio. Dollar, halfen sie Tausenden unter Hungersnot leidenden Menschen in Afrika. Zum 20. Geburtstag von 'We Are the World' erschien am 14. Februar 2005 diese Doppel-DVD 'The Story Behind the Song', kommentiert von Jane Fonda. Die DVD zeigt das legendäre Making-of des Songs sowie einen Blick hinter die Kulissen dieser einzigartigen Aufnahme-Session. Zudem ist die DVD vollgepackt mit Bonusmaterial, wie u.a. das 10th Anniversary Special 'One Song, Many Hands', die 'We Are the World' Karaoke-Version, Clips der Auftritte bei den 'Grammys', den 'American Music Awards' und 'Live Aid' sowie zwei Stunden Extra-Footage der Proben und Aufnahmen.

'We Are the World' from 'USA for Africa' wasn't just a song. It was a dream, an event, a worldwide movement. 45 of the greatest music artists of the time - including Michael Jackson, Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, Bob Dylan and Diana Ross - joined forces on January 28, 1985 to record this song. With the proceeds, around 60 million dollars, they helped thousands of people suffering from famine in Africa. On the occasion of the 20th anniversary of 'We Are the World', this double DVD 'The Story Behind the Song' was released on February 14, 2005, commented by Jane Fonda. The DVD shows the legendary making-of of the song as well as a look behind the scenes of this unique recording session. In addition, the DVD is packed with bonus material, such as the 10th Anniversary Special 'One Song, Many Hands', the 'We Are the World' karaoke version, clips of the performances at the 'Grammys', the 'American Music Awards' and 'Live Aid' as well as two hours of extra footage of the rehearsals and recordings.
