The Sunsplash Festival has its origins in Jamaica, the homeland of reggae. The film 'Cool Runnings - The Reggae Movie' shows the festival from 1983 and in that year it took place for the sixth time. In the film, the organizers tell the story of the festival, visitors report on their impressions and the bands heat up the atmosphere. Every year, the festival gets bigger, attracting reggae stars and guests from Jamaica and around the world. Sunsplash festivals also take place in Germany and in addition to the local bands, international stars also come to continue the tradition of this important music festival. Roots, rock, reggae and the irie feeling of feeling good are the most important components of the festival and its ambassadors.
