Noha (Loubna Abidar), Randa (Asmaa Lazrak) und Soukaina (Halima Karaouane) sind Freundinnen und Kolleginnen. Die drei Frauen arbeiten als Prostituierte in Marrakech, schlagen sich durch. Ein wahrhaftiges, bewegendes und bisweilen auch humorvolles Porträt von Prostituierten im heutigen Marrakech ist Nabil Ayouch mit seinem Drama 'Much Loved' gelungen. Er schildert ihren Alltag realistisch und ungeschönt, nie voyeuristisch, und mit Sympathie für seine Heldinnen, die mit großer Intensität und Natürlichkeit von den vier Darstellerinnen gespielt werden. Der in Marokko verbotene Film gefiel auf den Filmfestivals in Cannes und München.

Nabil Ayouch has succeeded in creating a truthful, moving and sometimes humorous portrait of prostitutes in today's Marrakech with his drama 'Much Loved'. He describes their everyday life realistically and unembellishedly, never voyeuristically, and with sympathy for his heroines, who are played with great intensity and naturalness by the four actresses. The film, which was banned in Morocco, was popular at the film festivals in Cannes and Munich.
