Andrea rettet ihrem Mann mit dessen Dienstwaffe durch einen gezielten Schuss das Leben. Auf einem Autobahnparkplatz wird der junge Programmierer Kevin Dahmer erschossen. Die Ermittlungen ergeben, dass Kevin für den Softwarekonzern 'Microprotec' gearbeitet hat. Nebenbei war er an einem kleinen Startup-Unternehmen beteiligt. Mit seinen beiden Freunden Mike und Nadine hatte er ein Grafikprogramm entwickelt. Es stellt sich die Frage, ob der Softwarekonzern selbst einen Virus programmiert hat und Kevin Dahmer davon wusste und deshalb sterben musste? Christina, die kleine Schwester der Chefin Engelhardt, wird verfolgt, rast über die Autobahn und verursacht einen spektakulären Unfall. In ihrer Panik gibt sie Vollgas und flieht vom Unfallort. Kurz darauf steht sie vor der Tür ihrer großen Schwester. Sie erzählt aufgewühlt, dass sie auf dem Rückweg von einer Klettertour von zwei bewaffneten Männern auf einer Raststätte überfallen wurde. Es sei ihr gelungen vor den Angreifern zu fliehen, aber auf der Flucht habe sie den Unfall verursacht. Doch als man in den Reifen von Christinas Wagen Drogen findet, wird an der Unschuld der kleinen Schwester sehr gezweifelt...

In season 16, there are again highly fast-paced cases to solve: Tom Kranich and Semir Gerkhan chase a speeder: Jörg Staller wants to reach his plane at all costs and goes full throttle. An accident happens, he dies. The cops discover a fresh bullet hole in Staller's car and a one-way ticket to Chile. Andrea saves her husband's life with his service weapon with a well-aimed shot. The young programmer Kevin Dahmer is shot dead in a motorway parking lot. The investigation reveals that Kevin worked for the software company 'Microprotec'. On the side, he was involved in a small start-up company. With his two friends Mike and Nadine, he had developed a graphics program. The question arises whether the software company itself programmed a virus and Kevin Dahmer knew about it and therefore had to die? Christina, the little sister of the boss Engelhardt, is pursued, races along the highway and causes a spectacular accident. In her panic, she puts the pedal to the metal and flees the scene of the accident. Shortly afterwards, she stands in front of her big sister's door. She tells excitedly that she was attacked by two armed men at a service station on her way back from a climbing tour. She managed to flee from the attackers, but she caused the accident while fleeing. But when drugs are found in the tires of Christina's car, the innocence of the little sister is very doubted...
