The documentary begins at Europe's external borders, where an ongoing humanitarian catastrophe meets state ignorance, but also civil commitment. She accompanies a rescue mission on the Mediterranean, documents the catastrophic situation from the air and tells the stories of survivors who have found their way to Germany despite violence and deadly risks. "The shift to the right, which so often leaves you speechless, is met with almost two hours of concentrated facts, bewilderment and empathy," is the verdict of the 'Frankfurter Rundschau' on the film by Maximilian Ahrens and Maik Lüdemann with Prof. Dr. Aladin El-Mafaalani, Prof. Dr. Marcel Fratzscher and George Michael Kakas, among others.
