Anthony, Karate-Champ und Träger des 'Golden Kimono', hat die Uni verlassen. Sein unterlegener Gegner, der bösartige Jo Carrson, terrorisiert seitdem mit seiner Bande übler Schläger die Stadt. Anthonys Freund Greg Voss, der den Kimono und andere Trophäen aufbewahrt, bis ein würdiger Nachfolger gefunden ist, wird von der gemeinen Bande brutal zusammengeschlagen. Der selbsternannte Karate-King Jo Carson eignet sich mit Gewalt den 'Golden Kimono' an und protzt damit auf einer Party. Alle haben Angst vor dem gewalttätigen Schläger mit der großen Karate-Erfahrung. Doch halt! Einer macht ihm die Trophäe des Uni-Champions streitig und zwar der unbekümmerte Neuling Larry Johns. Der hat zwar keine Ahnung von Karate, dafür aber sein Herz am rechten Fleck und er ist ein Feind von Unterdrückung und Ungerechtigkeit, und ein durchtrainierter Sportler. Larry hat alle Vorzüge der alten Samurai in sich vereint: Selbstüberwindung und Disziplin, Ausdauer, Konzentration und Ehrgefühl. Seine Charakterfestigkeit überzeugt auch den großen Akai Masura. Master of the masters und vielfacher Kampfsport-Weltmeister aus den 'Land der aufgehenden Sonne'. Er wird Larrys Trainer und versucht, ihn in kürzester Zeit auf einen Kampf mit Jo Carson vorzubereiten. Ein mörderisches Training beginnt. Larry gibt alles, was in ihm steckt und wird sehr schnell zu einem richtigen Karate-Kämpfer. Nachdem sich Larry beispiellos geschunden und gequält hat, zeigt ihm sein Meister das Geheimnis des 'Drachen-Schlages' und Larry ist bereit für seinen großen Kampf. Doch wird allein sein Wille und das kurze Training ausreichen, um gegen die langjährige Erfahrung, die Hinterhältigkeit und den Killerinstinkt von Jo Carson zu bestehen? Anthony's friend Greg Voss, who keeps the kimono and other trophies until a worthy successor is found, is brutally beaten up by the mean gang. The self-proclaimed karate king Jo Carson forcibly appropriates the 'Golden Kimono' and flaunts it at a party. Everyone is afraid of the violent thug with the great karate experience. But wait! One person disputes him for the trophy of the university champion, namely the carefree rookie Larry Johns. He has no idea about karate, but his heart is in the right place and he is an enemy of oppression and injustice, and a well-trained athlete. Larry has combined all the advantages of the old samurai: self-control and discipline, perseverance, concentration and a sense of honor.
