Jungs mit Größe. Janik und Samuel haben das Abi geschafft und wollen zusammen nach Istanbul reisen, in ein neues, selbstbestimmtes Leben. Mit 'Räuberhände' (2021) hat Ilker Çatak (siehe zuvor 'Es war einmal Indianerland' 2017 und 'Es gilt das gesprochene Wort' 2019 hier im Verleihprogramm) den gleichnamigen Erfolgsroman von Finn-Ole Heinrich verfilmt. Das Buch avancierte nach seiner Erstveröffentlichung 2007 zum Beststeller, gilt heute in vielen deutschen Schulen als Pflichtlektüre und wurde in seiner Bühnenfassung am Hamburger Thalia-Theater bereits über einhundertmal aufgeführt. Wahrhaftig und einfühlsam erzählt Çatak von einer tiefen, prägenden Freundschaft und vom einzigartigen Lebensgefühl mit 18, jener Zeit des Aufbruchs, in der alle Möglichkeiten offen scheinen. Boys with size. Janik and Samuel have graduated from high school and want to travel to Istanbul together, to a new, self-determined life. But shortly before the trip, their friendship is put to the test: Janik (Emil von Schönfels) and Samuel (Mekyas Mulugeta) are best friends and are just graduating from high school. While Janik works his way through his liberal model parents, Samuel comes from a broken background and guards his alcoholic mother like a secret. Janik longs for chaos, Samuel for order.
