'Thilda & die beste Band der Welt' ist ein Feelgood-Movie für die ganze Familie über eine junge Band, die sich für einen Musikcontest auf einen turbulenten Roadtrip quer durch Norwegen begibt und dabei das eine oder andere aufregende Abenteuer erlebt: Grim (Tage Johansen Hogness) und Aksel (Jakob Dyrud) sind beste Freunde und träumen davon, als beste Band der Welt Musikgeschichte zu schreiben. Als ihre Band 'Los Bando Immortale' zum norwegischen Rock-Championship eingeladen wird, ist ihr Ziel plötzlich zum Greifen nah. Leider haben sie jedoch zwei Probleme: Aksel kann nicht singen und für eine echte Band fehlt ihnen ein Bassist. Als beim Casting nur Thilda mit ihrem altbackenen Cello auftaucht, scheint der große Traum endgültig zu platzen. Doch die trotzige Thilda beweist, dass man auch mit einem Cello ordentlich rocken kann. Mithilfe des coolen Rallyefahrers Martin machen sie sich in einem geklauten Camper gemeinsam auf einen verrückt-musikalischen Roadtrip quer durch Norwegen. Dabei ahnen die Jungs nicht, dass Thilda (Tiril Marie Høistad Berger) ein Geheimnis hat, das ihr gesamtes Unterfangen in Gefahr bringen könnte. Regisseur Christian Lo ('Rafiki - Beste Freunde') verfilmte humorvoll, spannend und zugleich poetisch die Geschichte einer jungen Band, die alles daran setzt, ihren großen Traum zu verwirklichen. Entstanden ist ein auf Augenhöhe mit den jungen Protagonisten erzähltes Roadmovie im Stil von 'Little Miss Sunshine'. Ein berührender Film voller Energie über die Macht der Musik, Vertrauen, Freundschaft und das große Abenteuer Erwachsenwerden. 'Thilda & die beste Band der Welt' feierte 2018 in der Sektion 'Generation Kplus' der Berlinale seine umjubelte Weltpremiere und lief unter anderem im Wettbewerb des 'Zlín International Film Festival for Children and Youth'. Eine norwegische Produktion von 'Filmbin' in Koproduktion mit 'Original Film' und 'Snowcloud Film', gefördert vom 'Filmfond Nord', dem 'Norwegian Film Institute' und dem 'Creative Europe Programme - Media of the European Union'. 'Thilda & die beste Band der Welt' wurde am 20. September 2018 durch den 'Farbfilm Verleih' in die deutschen Kinos gebracht.

'Thilda & the best band in the world' is a feel-good movie for the whole family about a young band that embarks on a turbulent road trip across Norway for a music contest and experiences one or two exciting adventures: Grim (Tage Johansen Hogness) and Aksel (Jakob Dyrud) are best friends and dream of making music history as the best band in the world. When her band 'Los Bando Immortale' is invited to the Norwegian Rock Championship, her goal is suddenly within reach. Unfortunately, however, they have two problems: Aksel can't sing and they lack a bass player for a real band.
