After the successful landing on the moon, NASA is focusing entirely on scientific exploration of the moon. The award-winning BBC documentary 'The Moon Landing - Part 2' shows that a flight into space does not forgive technical errors. The near-catastrophe of Apollo 13 is followed by the Challenger disaster, in which the crew of seven dies. In 2003, the second fatal tragedy occurred: during re-entry into the Earth's atmosphere, the Columbia, the longest-serving shuttle in the US space fleet, broke up. This should be the beginning of the end of the shuttle missions.
