Für eine Revue in Singapur werden in New York Tänzerinnen gesucht und der Manager Gary Webster (Alexander D'Arcy) veranstaltet zu diesem Anlass ein Casting. Schon bald wird deutlich, welche Auswahlkriterien für diesen Job gelten, qualifiziert doch eher eine dralle Figur und eine gewisse Zeigefreudigkeit die Mädchen, als eine tänzerische Ausbildung. Schnell sind acht Kandidatinnen ausgewählt, wobei der imposanten Babs schon eine Drehung auf der Stelle genügt, um eine Zusage zu bekommen. Der Flug verläuft ganz anders als geplant, denn das Flugzeug stürzt ab. Wie durch ein Wunder überleben Gary, sein Gehilfe und alle acht Mädchen unverletzt und treiben in einem Schlauchboot in der Südsee. Bevor ihnen der Durst die Sinne raubt, sichten die Schiffbrüchigen eine Insel am Horizont und schon bald erreichen sie das rettende Ufer. Zunächst scheint die Insel ein kleines Paradies zu sein. Als die Gruppe aber das Häuschen eines Geologie-Professors findet, machen sie eine schreckliche Entdeckung: Der Professor hängt tot in einem riesigen Spinnennetz. Doch die Mädchen lassen sich die Laune nicht verderben, räumen das Haus auf und feiern mit zwei Mitarbeitern des toten Professors, die inzwischen auf der Insel angekommen sind, ein rauschendes Fest. Der nächste Schreck läßt aber nicht lange auf sich warten. Als Gary nämlich auf Erkundungstour geht, wird er von einer ekeligen Riesenspinne angegriffen und gebissen. Doch Gary ist nicht tot, vielmehr verwandelt er sich in ein Wesen, dass eine gewisse Ähnlichkeit mit einem Werwolf hat und fortan die Gruppe der Mädchen dezimiert.

For a revue in Singapore, dancers are needed in New York and manager Gary Webster (Alexander D'Arcy) organizes a casting for the occasion. It soon becomes clear which selection criteria apply to this job, as the girls are more qualified by a buxom figure and a certain willingness to show off than a dance education. Eight candidates are quickly selected, with a turn on the spot being enough for the imposing Babs to get a commitment. The flight goes completely differently than planned, because the plane crashes. Miraculously, Gary, his assistant and all eight girls survive unharmed and drift in a rubber dinghy in the South Seas. Before thirst robs them of their senses, the castaways spot an island on the horizon and soon they reach the saving shore. At first, the island seems to be a small paradise. But when the group finds the house of a geology professor, they make a terrible discovery: the professor hangs dead in a huge spider's web. But the girls don't let it spoil their mood, tidy up the house and celebrate a lavish party with two employees of the dead professor, who have arrived on the island in the meantime. But the next shock is not long in coming. When Gary goes exploring, he is attacked and bitten by a disgusting giant spider. But Gary is not dead, rather he transforms into a being that has a certain resemblance to a werewolf and from then on decimates the group of girls.
