The Beatles - A Rockumentary of the 1964 Tour

Although this DVD contains none of the Beatles music, thrugh the interviews, press conferences&newsreel footage, it does manange to show the fervour and hysteria that surrounded The Beatles on their first tours of USA, Japan, Australia&New Zealand in 1964. The US-tour kicked off with their near riotous arrival at JFK airport in New York, in February, with an appearance on the popular Ed Sullivan Show, watched by an estimated 73 million viewers and concerts in Washington DC, New York and Miami. In June that year, they headed down under and this DVD features interviews&footages taken from Sydney, Melbourne, Darwin, Adelaide&Brisbane in Australia&Auckland, Wellington, Christchruch&Dunedin in New Zealand. This tour featured Jimmy Nicol deputising with Ringo Starr, who was ill at home. This DVD show what a worldwide phenomenon Beatlemania was and is historical record of the impact made by the Beatles in those changing times.
