Mitchell Goosen (Shane McDermott) kennt nur zwei Dinge auf der Welt: Wellen-Surfen und Racerskating. Als seine Eltern für sechs Monate nach Australien gehen, muß er zu seiner exzentrischen Tante Irene (Edie McClurg) nach Pittsburgh ziehen. Am liebsten möchte er sterben, denn in Pittsburgh kann man nicht surfen. Mitchell hat es anfangs schwer. Seine Klassenkameraden spielen ihm ständig Streiche. Vor allem Jack (Chris Conrad), der beste Eishockeyspieler der Central-High, macht ihm das Leben zur Hölle. Einziger Lichtblick für Mitchell sind sein Cousin Wiley (Seth Green), in dem er einen Freund gefunden hat, und Nikki (Brittney Powell): bildhübsch, nett - und Jacks Schwester. Und Jack sieht es gar nicht gern, dass seine Schwester mit seinem Erzfeind ausgeht. Da hat Mitchell eine Idee: er fordert Jack zum gefährlichsten Racerskate-Rennen heraus.

When his parents go to Australia for six months, he has to move in with his eccentric aunt Irene (Edie McClurg) in Pittsburgh. He would like to die, because you can't surf in Pittsburgh. Mitchell has a hard time at first. His classmates are constantly playing tricks on him. Especially Jack (Chris Conrad), the best ice hockey player at Central High, makes his life hell. The only ray of hope for Mitchell are his cousin Wiley (Seth Green), in whom he has found a friend, and Nikki (Brittney Powell): beautiful, nice - and Jack's sister. And Jack doesn't like it at all that his sister goes out with his archenemy. Then Mitchell has an idea: he challenges Jack to the most dangerous racerskate race.
