Irishman Johnnie Maher (director Jimmy Smallhorne) is a foreman in the New York construction company of his uncle Trump (Chris O'Neill). He leads a wild and rough-legged group of Irish immigrants who work during the day and blow out their lights at night with drugs and alcohol. He has a girlfriend he loves, good buddies and the respect of his community - nevertheless, he is plagued by problems. Disturbing dreams startle him at night, but remain indistinct as images of his repressed past. However, these images begin to take shape when he observes his Uncle Trump with a prostitute on the construction site at night. Suddenly, Johnny's world falls into chaos, he begins to remember himself, is confronted with a truth that he does not want to accept.
