Power and Terror

Noam Chomsky, a linguistics professor from Chicago and the last dissident in the USA, is not only "the most important intellectual alive" according to the New York Times. With his characteristic precision and ruthlessness, he analyzes the political developments after September 11, 2001 as well as the causes that led to the much-invoked new terrorist threat or the so-called war against it. Uncomfortable truths from the smartest man in the world, not quite as presented in a bite-sized and beer tent way as by the self-taught colleague Michael Moore, but for that very reason hardly less enlightening and unsettling.
