Amerika in den 1960er Jahren. Der Hautarzt Dr. Guy (George Hardy) ist besessen davon, auf dem Gebiet der Zytologie einen revolutionären Durchbruch zu erzielen. Dazu hat er eine Apparatur entwickelt, die mittels eines Laserstrahls und einer Absaugvorrichtung Zysten jeglicher Größe, für den Patienten minimal invasiv, entfernen kann. Der große Tag ist gekommen, nach einem Scheitern bei der ersten Präsentation soll nun die Kommission des Patentamts von der Funktionsweise des Apparates überzeugt werden. Krankenschwester Patricia (Eva Habermann), die am eigenen Leibe erfahren hat, dass der Apparat noch lange nicht ausgereift ist und die deshalb heute ihrem letzten Arbeitstag und dem Ende ihrer Schicht entgegenfiebert, assistiert Dr. Guy bei der Demonstration. Hierzu wurde ein Patient ausgewählt, auf dessen Rücken eine riesige Zyste gewachsen ist. Doch der Eingriff geht schief. Der Patient stirbt und ein riesiges Zystenmonster macht sich auf die Jagd nach jedem, der die Klinik nicht rechtzeitig verlassen konnte. Dabei frisst und absorbiert es die Menschen nach Lust und Laune in einem Blut- und Schleimbad von unvorstellbarem Ausmaß.

America in the 1960s. Dermatologist Dr. Guy (George Hardy) is obsessed with making a revolutionary breakthrough in the field of cytology. To this end, he has developed an apparatus that can remove cysts of any size by means of a laser beam and a suction device, minimally invasive for the patient. The big day has come, after a failure at the first presentation, the commission of the patent office is now to be convinced of the functioning of the apparatus. Nurse Patricia (Eva Habermann), who has experienced first-hand that the apparatus is far from mature and who is therefore eagerly awaiting her last day at work and the end of her shift, assists Dr. Guy in the demonstration. For this purpose, a patient was selected on whose back a huge cyst has grown. But the procedure goes wrong. The patient dies and a giant cyst monster goes on the hunt for anyone who couldn't leave the clinic in time. In the process, it eats and absorbs people as they please in a bath of blood and mucus of unimaginable proportions.
