Endlich ist sie da: Die erste Peter Gabriel Live-DVD! Aufgenommen im Mai 2003 an zwei Abenden im Filoforum in Mailand während Gabriels erster Tour seit über zehn Jahren. Sie führte den Meister und seine Band mit 45 Konzerten in 32 Städte u.a. durch Europa, USA und Kanada. Zwölf Trucks und eine 60köpfige Crew sorgten für den Transport des Equipments und für einen reibungslosen Ablauf der Tournee, die erneut mit einer genialen Produktion in ihren Bann zog. Vor allem die einzigartige, in der Mitte der Halle platzierte, drehbare Bühne begeistert. Und dann erst diese Show! Superlative sind angebracht, aber eigentlich noch zu wenig. Wenn Gabriel zu Beginn allein die Bühne betritt und die ersten Töne von ´Here Comes The Flood´ anstimmt, ist klar, dass man gleich Zeuge von etwas ganz Besonderem wird. Ein musikalisch prachtvolleres, emotionaleres Konzert wird man in Zukunft so schnell nicht mehr erleben dürfen. Denn die ohnehin schon überragenden Gabriel-Kompositionen leben erst in dieser Umgebung so richtig auf. ´Sky Blue´ begeistert mit einem Blinden-Chor, bei ´Downside Up´ singt Gabriel "kopfüber"! mit seiner Tochter Melanie und die Chöre beim ruhigen ´Mercy Street´ sind einfach nur traumhaft. ´Solsbury Hill´ nutzt Gabriel zudem für eine kleine Fahrrad-Tour. Licht, Ton und Bühnen-Choreographie seiner unbeschreiblichen Backing-Band sind ebenfalls einzigartig. Beim abschließenden ´Father Son´ ist Gabriel dann wieder fast allein auf der Bühne. Der Kreis schließt sich. Als Bonus-Features darf man sich an einer Doku über die Entstehungsgeschichte von "Growing Up" und an einer Foto-Galerie von Bassist Tony Levin erfreuen.

Twelve trucks and a crew of 60 took care of the transport of the equipment and a smooth running of the tour, which once again captivated with an ingenious production. Above all, the unique, revolving stage placed in the middle of the hall inspires. And then this show! Superlatives are appropriate, but actually not enough. When Gabriel enters the stage alone at the beginning and strikes up the first notes of ́Here Comes The Flood ́, it is clear that you will immediately witness something very special. A musically more magnificent, emotional concert will not be experienced so quickly in the future. For the already outstanding Gabriel compositions only really come to life in this environment. ́Sky Blue ́ inspires with a choir for the blind, during ́Downside Up ́ Gabriel sings "upside down"! with his daughter Melanie and the choirs at the quiet ́Mercy Street ́ are simply fantastic. Gabriel also uses ́Solsbury Hill ́ for a short bike tour. Light, sound and stage choreography of his indescribable backing band are also unique.
