Martha Argerich ist unbestritten eine der bedeutendsten Pianistinnen dieser Zeit. Mehr noch sogar, wie "The Gramophone Magazine" urteilt: "Argerich ist schlicht und ergreifend eine der maßgeblichen Talente in der gesamten Geschichte des Klavierspiels". Ihrer charakteristischen, vielfach sehr eigenen Stilistik ist es zuzurechnen, dass ihre Interpretationen mach einem zu kompromisslos, anderen wiederum als überaus frei und bezaubernd klangschön erscheinen. Zusammen mit Stardirigent Riccardo Chailly und dem Gewandhausorchester Leipzig legt Argerich eine ebenso lebhafte wie einfühlsame Interpretation des "Klavierkonzerts a-moll" vor, die zu Recht ein krönendes Highlight des Schumann-Jahres 2006 genannt werden darf.

Martha Argerich is indisputably one of the most important pianists of this time. Even more, as "The Gramophone Magazine" judges: "Argerich is simply one of the most influential talents in the entire history of piano playing". It is due to her characteristic, often very individual style that her interpretations sometimes seem too uncompromising, while others appear to be extremely free and enchantingly beautiful. Together with star conductor Riccardo Chailly and the Gewandhaus Orchestra Leipzig, Argerich presents a lively and sensitive interpretation of the "Piano Concerto in A minor", which can rightly be called a crowning highlight of the Schumann Year 2006.
