Director Iñárritu doesn't disappoint
First of all, this is a great film: unique, engrossing and visceral. I like how this movie is shown out of sequence, but follows in an emotional chronology of the film, building up to the final moments being the most emotionally significant to the story. Sean Penn is amazing in this role, and in my opinion, should have received more praise for his performance in this movie, which I think was even better and stronger than his performance in Mystic River (although, also a great film), for which he actually received the Oscar. Naomi Watts is especially convincing in this film and Benicio Del Toro shows off even more of his undisputed talent.

Wonderful
Michael Caine at his best. For those that read the book, Michael Caine brings Fowler to life. Fraser is not too bad as Alden Pyle, but I think they could have casted someone less handsome and less of a muscle bag to be more congruent with the Graham Greene's Pyle. Do Hai Yen is beautifully cast and Christopher Dolye's cinematography is so stunning and alluring, it seduced me to go Vietnam for 5 weeks and see the country for myself. Both my trip and this film did not disappoint.

Sexy Beast
The astounding genuis and uproarious performance by Sir Ben Kingsley makes this movie so worth seeing as he plays Don Logan, one of the world's most overbearing and stingingly unpleasant criminals who is sent to convince retired fellow safecracker, Gal, into doing a job. He's a long, long way from Ghandi, that's all I can say.
