The big tour in 1982 took James Last and his orchestra to South Africa, France, Scandinavia, Belgium, Holland, Austria and Germany. A special highlight was the concert at the Berlin Waldbühne, which was broadcast by ZDF in 1984 and is now finally celebrating its DVD premiere. In the bonus section of the DVD is the legendary documentary about the spectacular concert tour through the Soviet Union at the time. In the early seventies, the band and the orchestra travelled through Tbilisi, Leningrad, Moscow and many other cities of the former USSR. The title 'Ambassador in Music' was to be taken literally at that time: James Last was the first Western musician ever to be allowed to play in the Soviet Union.
