Unter dem Künstlernamen "Diesel" machte der amerikanische Sänger und Gitarrist Mark Lizotte in Australien Karriere. Er führte die Charts mit Hits die "Tip Of My Tongue" oder "Man Alive" an, und kassierte für seine Alben Platintrophäen. Ende der Neunziger entschloss er sich, wieder ins heimische New York zurückzukehren und eine Familie zu gründen. Natürlich hielt er es nicht lange ohne Rock'n'Roll aus; also gründete er eine Band namens "Diesel" und machte sich in zahllosen Livekonzerten einen guten Namen. Und im Sommer 2004 zog es ihn für ein groß angelegtes Konzert wieder nach Australien zurück. Der Event trug den Titel "The First Fifteen '89-'04 Live" und war in drei Parts unterteilt: einem akustischen Liveset, einen Band-Teil und einen sogenannten Slam-Dunk, mit dem "Diesel" das Metro Theatre in Sydney fast zum Überkochen brachte. Den kompletten Konzertmitschnitt, der auch Mark Lizottes enorme Bühnenpräsenz unterstreicht, gibt es jetzt auf DVD. Das Ergebnis ist ein musikalisches und visuelles Highlight, welches sich kein Rock-Fan entgehen lassen sollte. "Diesel" ließ alle seine Hits als Down-under Revue passieren und demonstrierte, dass er zwischenzeitlich auch den Blues verinnerlicht hat.

Under the stage name "Diesel", the American singer and guitarist Mark Lizotte made a career in Australia. He topped the charts with hits such as "Tip Of My Tongue" or "Man Alive", and collected platinum trophies for his albums. At the end of the nineties, he decided to return to his native New York and start a family. Of course, he couldn't stand it long without rock'n'roll; so he founded a band called "Diesel" and made a good name for himself in countless live concerts. And in the summer of 2004 he was drawn back to Australia for a large-scale concert. The event was titled "The First Fifteen '89-'04 Live" and was divided into three parts: an acoustic live set, a band part and a so-called slam dunk, with which "Diesel" almost brought the Metro Theatre in Sydney to a boil. The complete concert recording, which also underlines Mark Lizotte's enormous stage presence, is now available on DVD. The result is a musical and visual highlight that no rock fan should miss. "Diesel" reviewed all his hits as down-under and demonstrated that he has also internalized the blues in the meantime.
