'8. Wonderland' erzählt die atemberaubende Geschichte des ersten virtuellen Staates, den ein global zusammengesetztes Kollektiv aus Hunderten von Menschen im Internet gegründet hat. Sie wollen den bloßen Worten der Politik Taten entgegensetzen. Wöchentlich stimmen die Bürger des '8th Wonderland' über die nächsten Aktionen ab. Per demokratischen Beschluss wird so der Vatikan mit Kondom-Automaten dekoriert, wird eine Darwin-Bibel in Massenauflage gedruckt, ein Atomdeal zwischen Russland und Iran durch sehr bewußte Fehl-Übersetzung verhindert und millionenschwere Fußballprofis in einen chinesischen Sweatshop zur handgearbeiteten Massenschuh-Produktion verfrachtet. Die Aktionen des 8. Wonderland legen den Finger in die Wunden der globalkapitalistischen Ungerechtigkeiten. Mit den sich radikalisierenden Aktionen erschüttern die Web-Revolutionäre nicht nur die Aufmerksamkeits-Ökonomie der internationalen Medien, sondern auch die der westlichen Geheimdienste, die globale Krisen heraufziehen sehen. Als ein Hochstapler behauptet, Gründer und Kopf vom '8. Wonderland' zu sein und seine Popularität für Werbespots ausnutzt, müssen die Internet-Partisanen handeln, wenn sie ihr eigenes Gesicht wahren wollen. '8. Wonderland' tells the breathtaking story of the first virtual state, which a globally composed collective of hundreds of people founded on the Internet. They want to counter the mere words of politics with deeds. Every week, the citizens of the '8th Wonderland' vote on the next actions. By democratic decision, the Vatican is decorated with condom vending machines, a Darwin Bible is printed in mass circulation, a nuclear deal between Russia and Iran is prevented by very deliberate mistranslation, and millionaire soccer professionals are shipped to a Chinese sweatshop for handmade mass-produced shoes. The actions of the 8th Wonderland put their finger in the wounds of global capitalist injustices. With the radicalizing actions, the web revolutionaries are shaking not only the attention economy of the international media, but also that of the Western secret services, which see global crises looming. When an impostor claims to be the founder and head of the '8th Wonderland' and exploits his popularity for commercials, the Internet partisans have to act if they want to save face. But all too quickly they fall into the discourse trap: when the most powerful begin to blame the virtual state for acts of violence, the hunt for the terrorists of the '8th Wonderland' is officially on.
